Bachelor's degree-completion programs within reach for more students with new tuition reduction and credit-by-assessment program

Providing education to those who may face barriers to access is at the heart of Holy Names University’s founding social justice mission. HNU was the first university west of the Rockies to offer a degree-completion program for working adults. Our weekend college (known as WECO) began in 1981 and helped thousands of students earn their bachelor’s degrees and progress in their careers.

Today, the value of a college degree is only greater in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as millions of Americans seek to prepare themselves for career changes or advancement. In recognition of this, Holy Names has announced a tuition reduction for our adult degree-completion programs.

Bachelor’s degree-completion programs available at HNU include Business, Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Studies, and Psychology. Programs may be completed entirely online or in a hybrid format to provide the flexibility many students seek right now.

In addition to our price reset, degree-completion students may also gain credits toward graduation through HNU’s credit-by-assessment program, SAIL (Student Assessment and Individualized Learning). Examples of prior learning that may translate into college credit include professional work experience; training classes, workshops, and seminars; military experience; volunteer experience; and life experience.

HNU welcomes degree-completers to join our learning community. We are committed to individually supporting our students as they complete their degrees, pursue meaningful work, and join our ranks of alumni living lives of service. Learn more.
