Autism Authorization

The Autism Authorization is a commission-approved program which prepares current holders of the Education Specialist Mild/Moderate Credential to teach this population of students. Current holders of the Education Specialist Mild/Moderate Internship Credential are also eligible for this authorization.

There are three two-unit courses. Courses are designed and taught by experts in this field. Candidates will:

learn about the unique characteristics of students within the autism spectrum
gain knowledge and skills in a variety of effective teaching methodologies
learn how to operate as a member of a multidisciplinary team
