Admission Information for Transfer Students

Transfer Applicants:

  1. To be considered for admission you must be in good academic standing at the last institution you attended and have a minimum 2.2 grade point average in transferable work.
  2. No minimum number of units is required.
  3. SAT or ACT scores are not required (for students with 30 or more transferable units)
  4. We admit students at all class levels for both fall and spring semesters.
  5. General Education does not have to be completed before entry.

What is Transferable:

  1. Community college courses are transferable up to 70 units (California State University transferability guidelines apply).
  2. If you have fewer than 30 units of transferable credit, a high school transcript will be required.
  3. We make every effort to match your transferable courses to our General Education and major requirements.
  4. We accept a completed IGETC in place of our own lower division and education requirements.
  5. With the exception of remedial work, all courses from regionally accredited, degree granting, four-year colleges and universities are transferable.
  6. With the exception of English and vocational courses, work done at recognized degree granting foreign institutions is generally transferable.

How to Apply:

  1. Return your completed application form, non-refundable $50.00 application fee, and personal essay to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. The application form is located on this web site, or you may contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission to have an application sent to you.
  2. Request official copies of all college and, if applicable, high school transcripts. International students should provide a validated English translation of their transcripts. Have them sent to :

  3. Request a recommendation (form located in the application on this web site) from a professor.
  4. International Students should send an official copy of their TOEFL or ELS Proficiency Report, if applicable.

Application Deadlines:

  • March 2 - Admission for Fall Semester Priority
  • December 1 - Admission for Spring Semester Priority
  • March 1 - Financial Aid Priority
