Bethany's Watkins Defends Her Invite Title

HNU's Jimenez Takes Fifth

Bethany University's Ashley Watkins successfully defending her Holy Names University Invitational title winning the 5k run with a time of 20:23.  Watkins won last years invitational with a course record 20:04.  Rounding out the top three were Pacific Union's Jillian Rothgeb and Bethany's Michelle Roth who crossed the line with times of 20:32 and 22:12 respectively. 

Holy Names top finisher was Stephanie Jimenez with a time of 24:29.  Teammate Gina Cagnolatti came in 7th at 24:52.  Pacific Union finished first in team scoring, one point ahead of Menlo College.  For complete race results click here.

3rd Annual Holy Names Invitational

Holy Names Head Coach Sergio Segura and the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will be hosting the third annual Holy Names University Invitational on Thursday, September 29, 2005.  The teams competing in this Cal Pac race are Holy Names, Pacific Union and Menlo College.  The race is held at Anthony Chabot Regional Park's Bort Meadow located in the beautiful Oakland Hills.  The women's 5k will begin at 12:00PM while the men kick off their 8k race at 12:45PM. 

Directions to Bort Meadow – Anthony Chabot Regional Park :

 

Go on Redwood Road (heading toward Merritt College ).

Continue on Redwood Road for 6 miles.

Once you pass the main entrance of Redwood Park , you have about 5 more minutes to get to the site of the XC Meet. The entrance to the park is on the right.

Holy Names Runs in Hayward, Davis

The Holy Names University Women's Cross Country team competed in both the CSU East Bay and UC Davis Invitational.  Only two runners competed in the East Bay race as Gina Cagnolatti and Aanuoluwapo Akintomide placed 18th and 18th respectively.  Cagnolatti crossed the line at 27:09 while Akintomide finished at 27:18.

The following weekend Holy Names ran in the highly competitive UC Davis Invitational.  Runners from USF, Sacramento State, St. Mary's College, San Jose State and UC Berkeley made up the majority of the field.  Stephanie Jimenez was the top HNU runner finishing in 87th with a 24:51.  Aanuoluwapo Akintomide, Lisa Clemson and Sarah Lomack finished 89th, 90th and 92nd respectively.  Clameson ran a 26:34 while Clemson and Lomack crossed at 27:54 and 28:57 respectively.  The women's next race will be the William Jessup Invitational on September 17.  The gun will sound at 11:00am.

Jimenez Takes 4th at HNU Invitational

Bort Meadow - Stephanie Jimenez continues to run strong for Holy Names as she placed 4th at the 2nd Annual Holy Names Invitational Friday.  Jimenez crossed the line with a time of 21:43, just 20 seconds behind the 3rd place runner, Jillian Rothgeb of Pacific Union.  Ashley Watkins and Michelle Roth of Bethany College finished 1,2 respectively.  Watkins won with a time of 20:04.

Holy Names travels to Belmont, CA next Friday, OCtober 29 to compete in the California Pacific Conference Championships.  The race will start at 11:00am.

Lady Hawks Compete at Mills Invitational

Jimenez is Top HNU Finisher

Oakland, CA - Holy names traveled down the hill to Mills College to compete in the 17th Annual Mills Invitational, a prestigious race that featured 62 runners from 10 different schools.  Stephanie Jimenez continues to be the Lady Hawks strongest runner coming in 24th place with a 23:05.  Aanuoluwapo Akintomide, Gabrielle Backer and Regilyn Balliao finished out the Holy Names field finishing with times of 27:31, 31:12 and 33:00 respectively.

Jimenez Takes 6th at PUC Invite

Freshman Runs a 23:51

Angwin, CA - Stephanie Jimenez continues to be the Holy Names Women's Cross Country's strongest runner taking home 6th place finish at the Pacific Union College Invitational Friday.  Jimenez finished the 5k run in 23:51.  Teammate Aanulowuapo Akintomide ran the race in 29:51 while Gabriella Becker and Regilyn Balliao crossed at 32:56 and 35:07 respectively.

Holy Names Competes in the Otter Invitational

Seaside, CA - Holy Names Women's Cross Country competed in the 2004 CSU Monterey Bay Otter Invitational over the weekend.  Stephanie Jimenez, battling sickness was the first Hawk to cross the line finishing in 9th place with a time of 22:55.

Jimenez Takes 9th at the NDNU/Menlo Invite

NDNU Takes the Meet

Crystal Springs - Stephanie Jimenez was once again the top female finisher for Holy Names at the NDNU/Menlo Invitational, finishing the race in the 9th spot out of 45 runners.  Ashley Watkins of Bethany College finished first with a time of 19:41.  Jimenez' time was 21:19, just 4 second off the 8th place time. 

Lisa Clemson and Aanuoluwapo finshed in the 33rd and 35th spots with times of 30:21 and 32:04 respectively.  Regilyn Balliao closed out Holy Names' field with a time of 36:36.

The Hawks return to the track Saturday, October 2 at the CSU Monterey Bay Invitational.  The race begins at 2:00PM.

Jimenez Takes 3rd At William Jessup Invitational

Rocklin, CA - Stephanie Jimenez finished 3rd in a field of 20 at the William Jessup Cross Country Inviational Friday with a time of 23:33.  Jimenez was about two minutes off the winning pace of 21:35, ran by William Jessup's Sara Kelly.  Also running for the Hawks was Lisa Clemson and Aanuoluwapo Akintomide who finished 12th and 14th respectively.

Holy Names Competes in the 13th Annual USF Invitational

San Francisco, CA - Holy Names Cross Country lined up with the likes of Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley and University of San Francisco at the 13th Annual USF Invitational held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.  Holy Names' top finisher was freshman Stephanie Jimenez who finished the 5K run at 21:37.9.  The winner, Anita Siraki of Stanford, finished at 17:20.8.  To view the complete race results click here.

 

August 4, 2004 - Cross Country Schedule Released!

The 2004 Holy Names University Men's and Women's Cross Country Schedule was announced today.  The Hawk harriers hit the ground running at the annual USF Invitational held in Golden Gate Park on September 4, 2004.  Holy Names also will host a meet on October 22.  For the full schedule click here.
