Steve Spencer - Head Women's Basketball Coach

Coach Spencer enters his third year at the helm of the Lady Hawks. Spencer is familiar with the program having served as the top assistant under Dennis Jones for five years, helping the program to conference titles as well as appearances in the NAIA Division II National Tournament each year.

Spencer spent the 2003-2004 season as the head women's basketball coach at the University of California at Santa Cruz, a NCAA Division III Independent. Spencer lead the Banana Slugs to a 9-16 record in his one year tenure.

Spencer founded the highly successful Lady Hawk Hoop Camps which is in it's 8th year.

A native of Laytonville, CA, Spencer played his college ball at Mendocino College in Ukiah, CA. Spencer graduated from CSU Hayward in 1999 with a BA in Liberal Studies and an emphasis on Physical Education / Kinesiology. Spencer resides in Oakland, CA with his wife Ruth Flores.

Marcie Haduca - Asst. Women's Basketball Coach
Haduca returns for her third year on the Lady Hawks staff following a stellar four year career at UC Santa Cruz where she played for Coach Spencer her senior season.  A Watsonville, CA native, Haduca enjoyed an outstanding senior campaign at UCSC starting every game, leading the team in scoring (12 ppg) and finishing the year with the program's third highest single season totals in both points (294) and three pointers made (46).  Familiar with the Cal Pac, Haduca helped lead her team to the Cal Pac playoffs each of the two years UCSC was a Cal Pac member.  In addition Haduca was named the UCSC Student-Athlete of the Year following the 2001-2002 season. 

Haduca graduated in June 2004 with a BA in Business Management Economics and a minor in Earth Sciences.  Haduca was one 10 finalists for the John McClendon Memorial Minority Postgraduate Scholarship last year, a scholarship program set up for minorities pursuing a postgraduate degree in athletics administration.  In addition, Haduca was one of just 22 finalists for the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Program, of which 11 were granted internships with the NCAA.

Haduca is the eldest of three children and currently resides in Oakland, CA.
