| Melanie Gregor- Head Women's Softball Coach | |
| Since December 2006, Gregor has
been the Head Softball Coach, spearheading the recruitment of the
first-ever 20 member softball squad. Prior to her appointment at HNU,
Coach Gregor was head coach and physical education instructor at Contra
Costa College from 2003-2007 and the head women's varsity volleyball
coach at the Athenian School in Danville from 2003-2007. She has also
coached swimming and track and field. Gregor received her MA in Sport Psychology at John F. Kennedy University in 2002 and her BS in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 1978. With the addition of softball, HNU now has 10 sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball and cross country for women and men, as well as, men's golf. HNU teams play in the California Pacific Conference of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) where they have won numerous championships in recent years and last season sent the HNU Cal Pac championship men's basketball team on a repeat trip to the Division II National Tournament. |
