Conference
Champions, HNU, Hole Last Rounds of Season
at Regionals
Indio, CA – After claiming the Cal Pac Conference Golf Championship,
the end of the season came earlier than desired for the golfers
of Holy Names. Hopes for a National appearance ended as HNU finished
seventh of nine teams competing last week in the NAIA Region II
Championship, played on the Golf Course at Terra Lago in Indio,
CA . HNU had the low score after the first day with 313 but nationally
ranked CSU-San Marcos came out of the pack to win the three-day
event with a team score of 912.
The
highlight of the tournament for HNU was Nikhil Dhawan's tie for
11th place, with a 232. Charles Chae followed two strokes back at
234 and a tie at 17th . HNU finished up placed at 32, 36 and 37,
with Brian Razzari, Erik Halvarsson and Jason Jones shooting scores
of 245, 250, and 251, respectively.
Another
highlight came as Chae was named to the All-Region Team. This ends
a season of progression for the golf team, which started without
a coach until Greg Hutton and Erik Stone took over the helm. This
was the 6th Conference Championship for Holy Names Golf and the
7th Regional appearance for the team.

Turlock,
CA – The Holy Names Men's Golf team combined to place ninth
at the CSU-Stanislaus Buzzini Invitational this week in Turlock.

an 11th place tie. Chae tied for 17th and was noted for par 5 scoring
(4.67, -4) and the number of pars made (34). Shimabukuro made the
