2007 Cal Pac All-Conference Honors
Announced
San Rafael, CA
— Led by California Pacific Conference Player of the Year Mustafa
Celik, Holy Names University dominated the All-Cal Pac men's soccer
All-Conference team by placing nine players on the honor list, Commissioner
Don Ott announced.
Celik, a sophomore forward,
knocked in 10 goals and added three assists to lead the Hawks to
a perfect 7-0-0 league mark. HNU advanced to the regional playoffs
with a 13-2-2 overall record and won their first round match 2-1
over Vanguard University.
The Hawks swept all the
individual honors as well. HNU's first-year head coach Paul Sapsford
earned the vote of his peers as the Coach of the Year. His goalkeeper,
junior Andreas Lindstrom, earned top defensive player honors after
allowing just two goals in conference play. Lloyd Grist is the league's
top freshman with ten goals and three assists.
The California Pacific
Conference competes in the NAIA and for men's soccer is composed
of Bethany University, CSU Maritime, Dominican University of California,
Holy Names University, Menlo College, Pacific Union College, Simpson
University, and William Jessup University.
