Madison Takes 7th at Cal Pac Championship

Named 1st Team All-Cal Pac

Rocklin, CA - Junior Emma Madison finished 7th at the 2006 Cal Pac Women's Cross Country Championship garnering 1st Team All-Cal Pac honors in the process.  Madison ran a 21:21.80 over the 5k course.  The top seven runners are named to the All-Cal Pac First Team. 

Sarah Lomack ran a 25:31 while teammates Chenique Jackson and Gina Cagnolatti crossed the line at 27:17 and 28:07 respectively.  Up next for madison and the Lady Hawks is the NAIA Region II Championship held in Fresno on November 4th.

Lomack, Jackson PR at Mills; Madison At Santa Clara

All Three Set New Personal Bests

Oakland, CA - Both Sarah Lomack and Chenique Jackson set new personal records at the Mills College Invitational Friday.  Jackson (25:52) and Lomack (25:59) finished 26th and 27th respectively while Gina Cagnolatti, running her first event of the year, came in 29th with a time of 27:18 over the 5k course.

Emma Madison meanwhile saved herself for Saturday's Santa Clara Invitational and saw her old personal record fall.  Madison ran a 20:28 at Santa Clara shaving over a half a minute off her PR.  136 runners competed at the Santa Clara race.

Lady Hawks Preview Championship Course

Madison Takes 4th

Emma Madison took home 4th place at the Cal Pac Championship Preview race hosted by William Jessup University Friday.  Madison ran a 21:25 over the 5k course that will be the site of the Cal Pac Championship race later this month.  CSU East Bay's Marie Vanzandt won the race with a time of 20:00.  Fellow Holy Names' runners Chenique Jackson (26:26) and Sarah Lomack (27:33) finished 27th and 31st respectively.  CSU East Bay won the team competition followed by Menlo College and then host William Jessup.  To view the race results in their entirety please visit our schedule page.

Madison Takes Pacific Union Invitational

Lomack Finishes 4th, Jackson 6th

Angwin, CA - All three Holy Names' runners finished in the top six at the Pacific Union Invitational including junior Emma Madison who won the hilly 5k race with a time of 21:57.  Teammates Sarah Lomack (27:31) and Chenique Jackson (31:54) finished in 4th and 6th place respectively.  The PUC course is easily the most rugged and hilly conference course, accounting for the apparent slow times. 

The entire race results were not immediately available.  The Lady Hawks are next in action Friday, October 6th at the William Jessup University Cross Country Meet.

Beach Sets New Course Record

All Three Hawks PR

Oakland, CA - Santa Clara University's Adrianne Beach won the 2006 Holy Names University Cross Country Invitational with time of 19:49 setting a new course record in the process.  Beach is the first runner to break 20 minutes on the 5k Bordt Meadow course and was 23 seconds faster than the second place runner, CSU East Bay's Marie Vanzandt.  Amanda Gillming of William Jessup finished third, crossing at 20:20.

Holy Names' Emma Madison finished 7th in the 35 runner field with a 21:05, nearly a minute faster than her previous PR.  Teammates Chenique Jackson (26:11) and Sarah Lomack (26:16) also set new personal records with their performance.

Santa Clara easily won in the team scoring finishing well ahead of CSU East Bay who took second.  Menlo College and Mills College rounded out the scoring respectively.

Madison Runs Strong at Warrior Open

Junior Finishes 19th in Field of 78

Turlock, CA - Holy Names University junior Emma Madison ran a 11:46.20 at the Warrior Open 3K, hosted by CSU Stanislaus.  Madison's time was good for 19th place on the short course out of a field of 78 runners from local NCAA D-I, D-II and JUCO institutions.  Stanislaus sisters Kelly and Erin Frier finished 1-2 with times of 10:41.80 and 10:42.20 respectively. 

Also running for Coach Sergio Segura was Chenique Jackson (14:03.90) and Sarah Lomack (14:26.2) whose times were good for 43rd and 49th place respectively.  For complete race results click here.

Hawk Trio Competes at Davis Invite

Davis, CA - Holy Names University Cross Country runners Sarah Lomack, Emma Madison and Chenique Jackson competed in the prestigous Aggie Cross Country Open over the weekend.  In an event featuring over a 100 runners, five NCAA Division I teams and had UC Berkeley and Stanford finish 1-2 the girls faired well.  Transfer Emma Madison was the first hawks to finish with a time of 21:55 for the 5k course.  Sarah Lomack ran a 27:17 while freshman Chenique Jackson was right on her heels crossing at 27:33.  San Jose State's Tiffany Hall finished first with an immpressive 18:09.  For complete race results click here.
