NOTICE – Scheduled electrical shutdown for Heafey, Feehan, Durocher – Sunday evening May 22

Dear HNU Community,

WHERE ARE WE NOW? The electric contractors are planning and in the process of re-routing the damaged underground cabling. Most of the trenching has been completed and now it’s time to pull the new electrical conductors through, so we may go back to normal power from PG&E.

WHEN WE WILL BE FINISHED? As anticipated, we are on track for the final shutdown to occur this Sunday, May 22nd from 6:00am to possibly 7:00pm. The shutdown will allow the contractor to do necessary repairs to the main gear switch. The power will be turn on building by building during that period. I urge you to please take precautions by unplugging equipment during that period.

During this time frame, all telephone and IT services will be unavailable, including: Blackboard, Library’s Electronic Resources (databases, journals, etc.), Elluminate, Blackbaud, and email.

In the later evening, an update will be posted onto the www.hnu.edu website to inform the community of the status of repairs. For residents on-site, there will be a memo board located at the Resident Life Front Desk.

We thank you everyone for your understanding and adaptability in this critical repair.

Stuart Koop and Luis Guerra.
