Overlooking the San Francisco Bay, Holy Names University serves over 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students. It is rooted in three master traditions: the liberal arts that seek to free the spirit from ignorance; the Catholic tradition that see no inherent conflict between faith and reason; and the ethos of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary which treats every human being as a daughter or son of God.
Holy Names is noted for its commitment to excellence, civic engagement and social justice. It is consistently ranked in the top five master’s level universities in the west for diversity.
