The approaches and skills necessary for assessing diverse populations and individuals of varying ages are presented in this course. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition, analysis, synthesis and communication of physical, bio-psycho social, developmental and nutritional data. Students acquire the advanced knowledge and skills needed to identify health problems, employ critical diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision making, formulate differential diagnoses, and develop health care plans within the scope of advanced practice nursing. Prerequisite: basic Health Assessment course. Concurrent enrollment in NURS 240L is required.
