The Field Placement Coordinator, a half-time position for the Counseling and Forensic Psychology (CSPY) programs at HNU, is responsible for providing organizational support, oversight, and professional development guidance to students throughout the practicum and field placement experience. Along with the Director, the Field Placement Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships between the CPSY programs and community-based agencies and institutions, maintaining student files including evaluations and contracts, and communicating regularly with practicum and field placement site supervisors. The Field Placement Coordinator assists the Director in complying with BBS changes in curriculum as well as any adjustments needed to maintain the program’s accreditation with the State of California, as well as other administrative projects in the department related to student training.
The ideal candidate for this position is able to work collaboratively with the CPSY team, demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills including the ability to follow through with tasks without prompting from the Director, and demonstrates respect and sensitivity in working with students on professional development issues. This position reports to the Director of the Counseling and Forensic Psychology Programs.
● MFT, LPCC, Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology is required
● Licensed or licensed eligible preferred but not necessary
● Familiarity with BBS MFT/LPCC field placement requirements will be essential
● Knowledge of mental health agencies and county programs in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco County will be essential
● Bilingual Spanish preferred but not necessary
