When playing your PowerPoint presentations, do you use the Presenter Tools? If not, you might want to try it next time. The Presenter Tools allow you to see the time (current or elapsed), view your slide notes, and preview the next slide. It also allows you to open links from your presentations (something you can’t do if you show the presentation without the Presenter Tools). To take advantage of these helpful tools:1) When you are ready to play your presentation, click on the Slide Show menu, then View Presenter Tools.
The Slide Show will play, with the Presenter Tools visible to only you. The slides will be the only thing displayed to your students:
By default, the current time is displayed on the top right. The current slide is in the top center, the slide notes are in the bottom center & the Up Next window (displays the next slide) is on the bottom left.
3) To open a link on your slide, make sure the slide with the links is the one currently displaying in the top center. Then click on the link. The link will open in a web browser window.
Stay tuned for next week’s tip which will cover how to change some of the Presenter Tools display settings, including changing the time displayed from the current time to the elapsed time!

This is a great tip!One thing I’ve learned is to turn off “mirroring” in the display. Presenter mode assumes that your computer/laptop will have a different display than your projector.
