We have samples of three different lovely and comfortable task chairs that are being considered for an area of the library. Please come in this week or next and vote for your favorite!

Spring Break Hours

In support of Education and Nursing, we are staying open through much of spring break, but we do have closures so we can focus on upgrades to our systems.

  • 10 am – 3 pm Saturday, March 3
  • CLOSED Sunday March 4 – Wednesday March 7 for major upgrades to our library system
  • 12 noon – 6 pm Thursday & Friday March 8-9
  • 10 am – 3 pm Saturday, March 10
  • 1 pm – 7 pm Sunday, March 11

Upcoming Events

Book Salon, Thursday, March 15, 7-8 pm: Thomas Peele, Killing the Messenger. Peele’s book is about the murder of Oakland Post journalist Chauncey Bailey by a local crime family. The SF Chronicle’s review called this an “urgent new book.” Light refreshments served.

OCCUPY APA! A Citation Sit-in for Students and Faculty,  Thursday, March 22, 5-7 PM, Library Classroom: Are you a student or faculty member driven to frustration by the challenges of APA (American Psychological Association) citation? Are your APA citation skills in need of a tune-up? Would you like an introduction to using RefWorks to format your citations? Librarians Nicole Branch and Daniel Ransom are offering a workshop about this ubiquitous and challenging citation format designed to help you format citations and reference lists easily and quickly. Email hnulibrary@hnu.edu to reserve a spot.
