Library Hawk Squawk: Design Sessions 9/14, Art Talk 9/18

Library Design Sessions: Friday, September 14, the Library is holding two once-in-a-lifetime library design sessions, open to all students, faculty, and staff (and we have several external guests as well). Input from the entire Holy Names community is crucial. Light refreshments served. Feel free to arrive late or leave early as your schedule requires.

  • The morning session,  9 am – 10:45 am (RSVP here), features an architectural talk by library space planner Will Baty, who is also on faculty at Santa Rosa Junior College, where he led a library renovation.
  • The afternoon session, 2 – 3:30 pm (RSVP here), is your chance to weigh in on what YOU would like to see for HNU’s “library of the future.” Come share your thoughts!

Autumn Art Talk and Exhibition, Tuesday, September 18, 7-8 pm: The HNU community and the general public are invited to a fascinating two-artist talk by Ian Sammis, Assistant Professor of mathematics, and HNU Education credential student Carolyn Gaye. Dr. Sammis produces computer-generated graphics based on mathematical formulas, while Ms. Gaye paints scenes from nature. Their work is very different — and yet united by a love of color and design. Light refreshments served.
