Our library classroom, which is available for general use when not used for instruction,  had a spiffy upgrade over the winter break. The new computers are lickety-split fast and the room looks modern and lovely!

Cushing Salon: Steven Yao and the Poetry of Angel Island

At our first event for spring 2013, Dr. Steven Yao will show slides and discuss poetry related to Angel Island Immigration Station, gateway to a million Asian immigrants between 1910 and 1940. Dr. Yao is the 2012-2013 American Council of Education (ACE) Fellow at HNU. Light refreshments served.

We think you’re sweet, so we’re offering a Valentine’s Day Lunchtime Dessert Concert by Doug Jones, pianist and HNU student. Stop by the Library to hear Doug’s music and enjoy a Valentine’s Day dessert.

This spring we will have an art talk and demonstration by Robert Simons, a book talk by Kitty Epstein and Kimberley Mayfield, a video on mindfulness with a talk led by Thea Maestre, and a few more events to be announced.
