Library Hawk Squawk 4/16/14: National Library Week, Journal Launch Party

Reminder: Launch Party for HNU’s New Journal, Between the Lines, Wednesday, April 23, 7 pm – 9 pm: Help welcome into the world Between the Lines, HNU’s new online journal of justice, featuring poetry and prose. Mingle with instructor Belo Cipriani and his editorial team: Michelle Morgan, Prose Editor, and Andrew Taw, Poetry Editor. A must-attend event for lovers of good writing! Light refreshments served.

In honor of National Library Week,  we’re sharing a dozen ways we serve the HNU Community. We offer you…

  3. Over 500 tablet- and smartphone-friendly popular and scholarly ebooks through Overdrive. Game of Thrones? The Goldfinch? The Fault in Our Stars? Yeah, we got that!
  4. Research help from caring librarians, available in person, by appointment, or through email, phone, chat, and texting (see the Ask a Librarian link on our website or text  510-746-8013)
  5. Six rolling whiteboards
  6.  Almost three dozen computers
  7. Nine laptops and 5 iPads for checkout
  8. Wifi throughout the building
  9. Five study rooms you can use on a walk-in basis or reserve online through our website
  10. RefWorks to keep your citations organized
  11. Interlibrary loan for requesting books and articles from libraries worldwide. If a book is owned by a library in the statewide Camino network, we can get it to you as fast as Amazon!
