Rita Klinger Scholarship and Award

This scholarship was created following the passing of Dr. Rita Klinger in April 2012.  Dr. Klinger taught in the Holy Names Kodály Program from 1981-1991 and continued to inspire and educate teachers through her subsequent work with establishing, coordinating and teaching in other Kodály programs throughout the country.

In honor of Rita’s life and teaching, Holy Names University has initiated an endowed scholarship in her name.  To date, $6,500 has been raised towards the $10,000 minimum needed to establish this scholarship.   We hope to raise the full amount before next summer in order to provide the scholarship to a returning Level III student who demonstrates outstanding promise for continuing her legacy.  Thank you to each of you who have contributed so generously.

To donate to this fund, you may send a check made out to Holy Names University, with Klinger scholarship in the subject line, to HNU Kodály Center, 3500 Mountain Blvd., Oakland, CA 94619, or go online to www.hnu.edu.
