Cushing Library's collections serve as infrastructure to support the University's curricula, including distance learning programs, by providing a judicious mix of print, media and electronic resources. Special collections accessible within or through the Library include Shakespeariana (shelved in the general collection); local and Bay Area history (Rare Book Room); and a folk music collection representing the regions and ethnic groups of the U.S., and declared an archive by the Library of Congress (Resource Center of the Kennedy Fine and Performing Arts Center).
