I am very pleased and proud to announce that the Preparatory Music Department (PMD) has tied first place in Oakland Magazine’s “Best of Oakland” poll! Alongside East Bay Music Together, PMD was voted “the best place for children’s music instruction in Oakland”.
There are many excellent music instructors in the East Bay, and some very fine institutional programs, so we are in good company.
As many of you are aware, nearly two hundred families in Oakland come to our campus for private and group music instruction. Our reach extends as well to Berkeley; San Leandro; Lafayette, Orinda & Moraga; Concord; Walnut Creek, and even as far away as Fremont and San Ramon.
This is a real honor for our program, and for Holy Names University.
I want to thank the instructors in PMD, my colleagues, for their hard work and dedication that has brought us this recognition, as well as the university for its support of our program.
