Newport Beach, Calif. – The Pacific West Conference announced that student-athletes have collected 1,600 PacWest Academic All-Conference Team Certificates in the most prolific academic achievement accomplishment since the league reorganized in 2006-07.

The annual PacWest Academic All-Conference Team was released on Monday, July 8, by the conference media relations office in Phoenix and featured student-athletes from each of its 14 institutions and all 15 of the league’s sports.

The PacWest Academic All-Conference Certificates were awarded to student-athletes compiling a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 – an increase of 633 from 2011-12 and 860 from 2010-11. Student-athletes who are eligible to practice or compete with their respective teams are eligible to receive the honor.

For the fourth straight year, women’s soccer posted the most recipients with 238 Academic All-Conference Team members – a jump of 65 over last season.
