Menbere Aklilu is owner of Salute E Vita Ristorante, located in the historic Marina Bay where Rosie the Riveter and other women constructed Liberty Ships during World War II. Menbere worked her way from being pregnant in a homeless shelter in Rome to becoming owner of Salute and 2008 Contra Costa Business Woman of the Year. Recently Channel 2 in San Francisco featured Menbere opening Salute to 600 homeless diners at Thanksgiving. 2013 marks Menbere\'s 10th
anniversary that she became owner of Salute.
