The Rome Prize Chaperone

As an expansion of the program, The 2014 Rome Prize employed a chaperone to see to student needs while traveling (navigational, academic and personal)

Misty Martinez (a recent HNU graduate and Rome Prize 2013 scholar) has been selected as this year’s chaperone.  She was hired based on her demonstrated ability to: guide and support group cohesion, navigate Roman public transport and streets, make decision in a high stress environment, adapt to last minute changes and rapidly changing situations in a positive and proactive manner, dedication to academic excellence in study abroad and on campus studies, to collaborate with coordinators, instructors and students.  Other skills:  Working knowledge of Italian language and familiarity with Italian/Roman culture.
