Commencement Events 2011 - 2012

Rehearsal - Wednesday, May 9, 2012
The rehearsal is the opportunity for you and us to accomplish many tasks in the fastest and most painless way to ensure that we have a spectacular ceremony! Check in begins in front of the Library at 5:00 p.m. and the actual rehearsal will be at 6:00 p.m. in the Corrigan Courtyard.

During the rehearsal we will:

Distribute instructions for the hooding ceremonies and the Commencement Ceremony
Take a practice walk through the Commencement Ceremony
Distribute your line up, seat numbers and tickets for both the hooding ceremonies and Commencement.
Answer all those last minute questions!
Make every attempt to limit the rehearsal to 60 minutes or less.

Senior Hooding - Friday, May 11, 2012
Holy Names University is one of the few institutions of higher education that holds this special ceremony for undergraduate students. During the ceremony, students are recognized individually for the degree(s) and awards they have achieved.

Check in no later than 1:30 p.m., California Room, Durocher Hall
2:00 p.m. in the Public Market (Seating is limited to family and close friends)

Commencement Mass - Friday, May 11, 2012
The Commencement Mass is for undergraduates, graduates and credential/certificate students, their families and close friends. The Catholic Mass is planned in part by members of the graduating class and much care is taken to include the diverse religious traditions present on campus. Participation in the Mass is optional. The Mass begins at 5:00 p.m. in the McLean Chapel.

Graduate Hooding - Friday, May 11, 2012
Holy Names University is one of the few institutions of higher education that holds this special ceremony for graduate and credential/certificate students. During the ceremony, students are recognized individually for the degree(s) and awards they achieved.

Check in no later than 7:00 p.m., Brennan Hall
7:30 p.m. in the VCPA, Regents’ Theatre (Seating is limited to family and close friends)

Commencement Ceremony - Saturday, May 12, 2012
In case of rain or inclement weather, Tobin Gym is the designated "rain site" for commencement. If this is the case, special tickets will be issued as attendance will be limited.

11:00 a.m. in the Corrigan Courtyard
Undergraduates check in no later that 10:20 a.m.
in Heafey 659/660
Graduate and credential/certificate students check in no later than 10:20 a.m. in the upper hallway of the VCPA building
