2007-2008 Recognized Clubs
American Red Cross
The primary goal of the American Red Cross Campus Club of Holy Names University is to educate the HNU community as a whole in public health related issues both locally and internationally. In order to do so, this club will work in conjunction with the American Red Cross Bay Area, Oakland Chapter. Throughout the year, community service projects and events will take place that coincide with the Red Cross calendar of suggested club events. The possible events that are included range in variety from teaching CPR on Valentines Day, to hosting a speaker on International Humanitarian Law on World Red Cross Day in May, and also a sponsored blood drive once a semester. Furthermore, we will be working with the American Red Cross via their Prepare Bay Area initiative in order to effectively prepare the HNU community in the event of a natural disaster or emergency. This campus club is eager to work with the already established HNU campus-safety guidelines and we also look forward to enhancing these overall objectives. In general, this campus club will look forward to promoting a healthy, knowledgeable, and safe HNU community.

Brothers and Sisters United/NAACP
The purpose of the HOLY NAMES UNIVERSITY Brother Sisters United/ NAACP is to encourage a positive image of African Americans, to assist students in dealing with today's social issues, to support its members in achieving their educational goals. " The mission of the BSU Youth & College Division shall be to inform youth of the problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities; to advance the economic, education, social and political status of African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities and their harmonious cooperation with other peoples; to stimulate an appreciation of the African Diaspora and other people of color's contribution to civilization; and to develop an intelligent, militant effective youth leadership."
BSU/NAACP is committed to retention and success in the education pursuits of students and cultural enrichment in general. Vision is developing a new generation of leadership.

The purpose of the HNU cheer leading team, would first and
foremost be to boost the spirits of our athletic teams here on campus.It would also provide a positive outlet for young men and women to develop
school pride while staying in shape.

Christian Bible Fellowship Club
The Christian Bible Fellowship Club is a spiritual club that deals with Christianity in our modern day lives. The purpose of this club is to educate club members, who may be believers or non-believers, about Jesus Christ, and to show them how the Bible is relevant even in our hectic college lives. This club consists of a bible study as well as worship, all in a positive Christian environment. This club will meet on either Wednesday or Thursday night this year. We plan on giving back to our community through community service. We also plan to have fund raisers in order to attend Christian concerts and events throughout the Bay Area.

Construction Club
To get students excited about helping out in their community, and to have students take pride in their achievements and community. Our goals for the 2007-2008 school year are to build homes for the less fortunate here in the bay area, as well as other parts of the country and world. We want to make our members aware that we as a group can help anywhere as long as there is a need. Our objective is to inspire our students to go out and help the community. We hope to boost the moral of those that we are helping.

The Drama Club's main objective is to enhance the knowledge and devotion to the dramatic arts at HNU by getting as many students involved. Since there is no theatre major, we work to help fellow students discover the many facets of theatre through movement, improve and music. We have fun, work hard, and learn a lot.

Finance Analysis Club
To provide a club that aids in the professional development of college students actively interested in corporate finance, banking, investments, and other related fields. To encourage interaction among these college students, faculty and business executives through corporate presentations, field trips, and other unique opportunities. The professional and social environments offered to the members of this organization are opportune times for students to learn more about the different fields of business and create various networking connections that will aid in their future success.
