Observance of the death of Buddha at the age of 80 yrs and his entrance into nirvana. Nirvana Day is a time to remember the teachings of the Buddha. Some monasteries will open their doors to lay people and offer food, gifts and money to the monks and nuns to help support their works. Remembered by Jains and Buddhists.
