Public Market

About the Market

Inspired by the famous Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA, the HNU Public Market provides a dynamic space for members of our campus community to enjoy fresh and local food while socializing, exchanging ideas, appreciating art, and listening to live music - all things you will find in a public market.

As a cultural "hot spot" the Public Market provides you the chance to:

  • Pursue creative passions by displaying your art work in “Sunset Row” an area dedicated to showcase various pieces from HNU students, as well as local folk art from the Oakland area.
  • Celebrate the diversity of our campus, which is what international row does by displaying flags from all the nations, including the U.S.A., represented at HNU.
  • Relax in the Arcade, which includes couches, tables, and televisions that create a coffee house atmosphere - where you can catch up on what’s hot in music, news, & sports.
  • Enjoy entertainment on the Street Stage - a platform for music, comedy, presentations, and announcements.

You can see that the Public Market at HNU is a gathering place where community lives in a dynamic and creative way.
