Orientation at HNU is more than just an introduction to the University; it is an opportunity to make certain you are ready to succeed at HNU whether you are new to college, transferring from another institution, or returning to complete your degree or pursue another one!
You will find a brief overview here, login to the Hawks Edge student portal for more resources and information and to RSVP for the program.
For all students, our orientation program includes:
welcomes from President William Hynes, Ph.D., the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, and others from the HNU community;
student success workshops and an introduction to campus resources
opportunities to learn more about HNU’s commitment to Social Justice and to participate in community service projects;
lots of possibilities for new students to meet and interact with one another; and
a chance meet current students, staff, and faculty who will be there to welcome and support you at HNU.
Traditional undergraduates (and their parents) will also:
learn more about how to make a successful transition to college (for freshman) or to a new and different university environment (for transfer students)
explore what life on and around campus will be all about
Adult and Graduate students will:
have an opportunity to attend breakout sessions specific to their program or major
meet the faculty and staff from individual programs
get information about resources and supports specific to the adult learner
