On the evening of September 10, HNU President William J. Hynes, PhD, and his wife, Mrs. Margie Shurgot Hynes, hosted a President’s Circle reception at their beautiful home. The event drew more than 40 attendees, which included members of the President’s Circle, Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, and friends of HNU. The President’s Circle is a giving society that recognizes donors who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to the HNU Fund.
The reception featured lovely music provided by a string quartet, which was composed of three Preparatory Music Department faculty members—James Choi, Dorothy Lee ’73, and Shauna Revelli ’08—and cellist Catherine Jolly.
During the event, President Hynes delivered welcoming remarks and gave an update on the University’s recent accomplishments. He also thanked and recognized the members of the President’s Circle and commended them for their support of the University. “Because of your partnership with HNU, we have been able to provide access and opportunity to promising students of all backgrounds, and to ensure that the educational and service legacy of the Sisters of the Holy Names is vibrant and enduring,” Hynes said. “Your generosity is a blessing and an inspiration. Thank you on behalf of the entire HNU community.”
President Hynes also discussed the Ever Forward Sesquicentennial Campaign and mentioned that additional news about the campaign will be forthcoming soon.
