Because we continually recruit outstanding visiting faculty, each term offers new opportunities for instructors and students to sharpen their skills and pursue their passion together. We have experts in the genres of poetry, creative non-fiction, fiction, or playwriting.
Creative writing dovetails with professional writing particularly where students create the documents that support their literature. For example, elements of social media, statements of aesthetic practices, letters to potential publishers, presenting works published, and grant applications are all part of professionalizing the creative writer. These topics are part of the professional writing courses.
The teaching of writing is a way many writers create the time to write.
