Holy Names University offers a Post-Master’s Nurse Educator Certificate program of study for registered nurses with a master's degree in nursing. This program prepares you to become an educational leader in academic and practice settings, such as in HNU's state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Center.
As part of building skills in nursing education, the program consists of seven courses which includes 20 units of graduate study and includes assignments to clinical sites with a qualified preceptor for a truly hands-on experience.
About the Nurse Educator Certificate Program
Qualified applicants must have an MSN, MN, or MA in nursing from a nationally accredited agency such as the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
A maximum of six units of coursework completed at the graduate level elsewhere can be transferred for credit toward the certificate if equivalency can be demonstrated. However, all preceptor supervised hours of study must be completed at Holy Names University.
